NOTICE of VACANCY
Department: Corner House
Position: Clinician (Full-time)
Salary Range: $40,000-$48,000
Post Date: November 1, 2017
Deadline: Until filled.
Provide clinical services in an outpatient substance abuse and co-occurring community based substance abuse treatment center.
Duties and Responsibilities: Conducts intake interviews; provides individual, group and family counseling; performs alcohol and drug evaluations and provides a full range of substance abuse and integrated co-occurring mental health treatment, including individual, family and group; confers with significant others including psychiatric, medical, legal, school, law enforcement and agency personnel to further the interests of the client and make appropriate referrals; meets with the clinical director at designated times for discussion of cases and administrative responsibilities; consults with the advanced nurse practitioner for diagnosis and evaluation of clients; records intake interviews, client progress reports and closing summary; writes clinical evaluations; fulfills requirements for County, State and Federal substance abuse treatment and prevention agencies; participates in professional training and case supervision to assure maintenance of high standards of clinical service.
Requirements: Ability to develop effective therapeutic relationships with individuals and groups; knowledge of theories of human behavior and ability to effectively apply them in the counseling process; knowledge of addictions theory and experience working with clients who have substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders; ability to work cooperatively with staff and with other individuals, agencies and institutions in the community. This may include staff committees, community presentations and like activities; ability to gather and record client information; ability to interpret agency services and goals to community groups; a graduate degree in a direct practice field of education (e.g. social work, counseling psychology, family therapy etc.) and experience in a counseling agency preferably with adolescents and adults. LCADC, LPC and/or LCSW preferred. Must satisfy employer paid physical, drug screen and criminal background check. Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License in good standing if driving municipal vehicles. NJ residency required by State Statute. R.S.52:14-7.
