Health Department Emergency Preparedness Survey

The Princeton Health Department is working with the Department of Emergency and Safety Services to oversee a first-of-its-kind survey in Princeton that will look at how prepared local residents are for potential disasters. To obtain this information, the Health Department has made a “Community Preparedness Survey” to assess resident’s knowledge and preparedness for local adverse events. ”The community’s level of preparedness makes a big difference in how well a town manages both natural and man-made disasters,” says Princeton Health Officer, Jeff Grosser. The Princeton Health Department would like to help residents feel prepared to handle power outages, severe weather, floods, pandemics, etc. The survey will help planners understand the needs of residents so that appropriate educational outreaches can be organized this fall. The survey will be available on the Princeton website until August 30th as well as at local events including: Breast Cancer Health Fair (D&R Greenway) – July 24, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., Farmer’s Market – 55 Witherspoon Street, June 29, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. We are asking our community partners to help encourage their clients to complete the survey on line or in person and return the survey to the Princeton Health Department, 1 Monument Dr., Princeton, NJ 08540. They can also be emailed to Nurse Carol at cnicholas@princetonnj.gov. Those interested in additional preparedness information can go to Ready.gov There is a step-by-step preparation plan outlined for any type of emergency at: Prepare for Emergencies. Princeton also has a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) where resident volunteers receive disaster response skills training to assist others in their community following a disaster. For more information about CERT, please visit CERT TEAM.
By continuing I agree that I am willing to complete a digital version of the preparedness survey.
